Aaron Lockwood focuses his practice on insurance coverage and claim handling, insurer bad faith, and other complex business disputes. He regularly represents major insurance companies against contractual, extra-contractual, and punitive damages claims involving a range of insurance products, including builders’ risk, workers’ compensation, and auto policies, and health benefit plans.
He has defended health insurers in all aspects of benefits litigation and in high-stakes disputes with providers. Aaron also has represented corporate clients in a variety of complex litigation matters in state and federal courts and arbitral forums around the country. His recent work on behalf of insurers includes matters in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah.
Aaron maintains an active pro bono practice. He has assisted Guatemalan and Mexican juveniles who fled from abuse or neglect to obtain lawful permanent residence in the United States, appearing in administrative proceedings before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, and in Immigration Court. More recently, he has worked to obtain coverage for transition-related care for transgender youth under Arizona’s Medicaid program.
