Abby M. Wenzel focuses her practice on capital markets, finance, and sale-leaseback transactions. She has represented commercial banks, investment banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions, as well as the equity, in connection with permanent, bridge, and construction loans, as well as senior preferred equity investments, interim financings, and mezzanine financings.
Abby has also represented lenders in connection with complex multi-property/multistate corporate sale-leaseback transactions. Abby has extensive knowledge as to the requirements of both the investors in a securitization pool and the rating agencies that rate the securitization pool.
She has worked with lenders in establishing loan origination programs, including the development of form loan documents and interaction with the rating agencies for structural guidance. She also has extensive experience representing developers, funds, and investors in connection with their acquisition, disposition, ownership, use, and financing of real estate.
Abby currently serves as a trustee on the board of Community Service Society, a 160-year-old institution with a primary focus on identifying and supporting public policy innovations to support the working poor in New York City to realize social, economic, and political opportunities. Abby received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her law degree from New York University School of Law.
