Adam W. Deitch is an associate in the Litigation Department. He focuses on complex litigation in federal and state courts, with an emphasis on white collar defense, internal investigations, and entertainment litigation.
Named a 2014 “Rising Star” by New York Super Lawyers, Adam has represented a wide range of corporate and individual clients, including Fortune 100 companies, major financial institutions, global technology companies, and world-renowned recording artists and labels.
As a member of the White Collar Defense & Investigations Group, he has handled matters involving allegations of mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, tax evasion, securities fraud, money laundering, mortgage fraud, obstruction of justice, and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
As a commercial litigator, he has represented clients involved in copyright infringement actions, royalty disputes, lawsuits arising out of commercial real estate transactions, contract disputes, and other general litigation matters.
In 2011, Adam concluded a year of firm-sponsored service as a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York. While there, he conducted two federal jury trials from start to finish in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, winning complete defense verdicts on behalf of the city and individual defendants. He also managed a caseload of federal actions from the pleading stage through discovery, depositions, motion practice, and final disposition.
While in law school, Adam’s work for the Wisconsin Innocence Project helped to exonerate a man who was wrongly convicted of first-degree murder and imprisoned for nearly 24 years before his release.
His law review comment, An Inconvenient Tooth: Forensic Odontology Is an Inadmissible Junk Science When It Is Used to “Match” Teeth to Bitemarks in Skin, 2009 Wis. L. Rev. 1205 (2009), has been cited in forensic science textbooks, scientific articles, and post-conviction legal briefs.
Prior to law school, Adam worked as campaign manager and communications director for a U.S. Congressional campaign.
