Adam Baker is a partner in the New York office and a member of Alston & Bird’s Government & Internal Investigations and Litigation & Trial Groups. He focuses his practice on government and internal investigations, white collar criminal defense and regulatory matters, including market regulation and broker-dealer compliance.
Adam has represented highly regulated entities and public corporations, as well as corporate officers, directors and employees, in investigations by the SEC, Department of Justice, New York Attorney General’s Office, FINRA and other criminal and civil authorities.
In addition, he also counsels broker-dealers, investment advisers, self-regulatory organizations and other market participants on securities law and market regulation issues, such as trading rules, alternative trading systems, derivatives, investment adviser regulation and anti-money laundering rules.
Before joining Alston & Bird, Adam received his J.D. from Boston College Law School, where he received the Privitera Award for outstanding scholarship and commitment to service and won best brief in the Wendell F. Grimes Moot Court Competition.
He also served as an intern for the Honorable David A. Mills of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. Before attending law school, Adam taught second grade in the Bronx as a corps member of Teach For America.
