When Adam Marc Stein passed the bar in 2000 it was with dreams of continuing and expanding his work with families and complex financial issues for estate planning. As a Certified Financial Planner, Adam had enjoyed working with his clients to find solutions to reach their long term financial goals and planned on continuing his behind the desk number crunching but as the saying goes “We plan, god laughs” and he certainly had a smile upon his face as Adam was thrown into a heavily contested custody battle his first week as an attorney.
That battle and how it was resolved changed his views on how to practice law. From then on Adam has been a family law practitioner obsessed with helping his clients resolve their difficult and emotional issues efficiently.
Besides being an experienced litigator, Adam has learned that the Courtroom is not always the best way to resolve the complex issues that surround a family law matter. He finds the mediation process helpful in resolving cases and works as a Mediator to help other legal professionals find solutions.
He is also a practiced Guardian ad Litum to help the Court decide on custody issues and a skilled Parental Coordinator to help educate high conflict parents on how to best handle their differences in a manor that puts their children’s interest first. He then uses the skills developed in these different roles to best represent his clients in their matter.
Besides his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University, Adam has Master Degrees in Personal Financial Planning, Taxation, and Community Counseling. He continues to meet the requirements to keep his Certified Financial Planner designation active and has worked with the Hall County Drug Court as an addiction counselor.
When not at work Adam relies on his two children to both inspire and keep him humble, is an avid gamer and reader, and firmly believes that sleep is overrated.
