Alan Enslen is a Shareholder and Attorney at Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. where he focuses his practice on International Trade strategies, Government Investigations and Regulatory enforcement. Alan Enslen is the head of Baker Donelson’s International Trade Practice. He is also an active member of the Global Business Team.
Alan attended Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1986. He later moved on to University of Alabama School of Law and graduated in 1997 (J.D.) magna cum laude. He was a member of the Alabama Law Review team, Order of the Coif and a Hugo L. Black Scholar.
Alan obtained his Masters (LL.M.) in International Trade Law from Georgetown University Law Center in 1998 with distinction.
Alan has an excellent history of successfully representing dozens of clients through voluntary disclosure and penalty mitigation processes, and handles enforcement disputes before the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Alan was admitted to practice in Alabama in 1997, Washington, D.C., in 1998, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit & Federal Circuit (1998), U.S. District Court, Alabama (1998), U.S. Court of International Trade (2001) and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in 2001.
