
Alan Mitchell is an attorney in the Business Immigration Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Atlanta office. Mr. Mitchell provides counsel to clients on a wide spectrum of business immigration matters, including nonimmigrant work visas, intracompany transfers, immigrant visa petitions, employer-sponsored legal permanent residency applications, as well as issues related to maintenance of legal permanent residency and naturalization.
Prior to Seyfarth Shaw LLP, he has experience advising individuals and small businesses on family and employer-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. Additionally, he advised clients on various labor and employment law issues, including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
As lead attorney, he represented clients in federal and state court, as well as at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and equivalent state and local agencies. In 2010, Mr. Mitchell interned at the Organization of American States with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights in Washington, D.C.
He was a senior editor of the Human Rights and Globalization Law Review at Howard University School of Law, where in Spring 2009, he won the Best Note/Comment Award. In Spring 2008, he won the American Jurisprudence Award Winner for Legal Reasoning, Research and Writing.
