Mr. Alex M. Allman focuses his practice in the areas of family law and civil litigation. Mr. Allman has been involved in handling all aspects of domestic or family law cases, including divorce, property distribution, child custody, child support and alimony, as well as a broad range of complex commercial and civil litigation.
In 2018, the Maryland Daily Record named Mr. Allman a 2018 Leadership in Law Honoree. Leadership in Law recognizes legal professionals in Maryland who have displayed extraordinary dedication to their occupation and communities.
Honorees are selected by an outside panel of legal and business leaders. According to the Daily Record spokesperson, Mr. Allman stood out for his professional achievement, community leadership, and role as a mentor.
Mr. Allman was recognized on the 2019 Best Lawyers in America list. Best Lawyers’ rankings are a leading, unbiased source of legal referrals in the United States. He was also recognized as a 2016-2017 Maryland Super Lawyer and was a Maryland Rising Star from 2010-2015.
Mr. Allman has experience handling and trying cases before State and Federal Courts in Maryland and Virginia, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and handling appeals before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Allman also has experience handling broker-dealer arbitrations before the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. Mr. Allman has been involved in multi-million dollar commercial litigation disputes, and has tried cases of significant dollar value to a successful completion.
Prior to joining Offit Kurman as a member of the family law practice group, Mr. Allman was a member of the firm’s commercial litigation group. Prior to practicing law, he worked as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable William B. Spellbring, Jr. in the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
