Alex Karam is an associate attorney at Smith Saks PLC. He focuses his practice on business law, civil and commercial litigation, and criminal defense.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Karam studied law at Emory University School of Law where he participated in the law schools joint program with the Georgia Institute of Technology providing PhD students with the legal guidance necessary to successfully commercialize their research.
He utilizes this unique background in his transactional practice: serving Arizona’s small and midsize businesses at every stage of development throughout a variety of industries, as well as, representing organizations involved in commercial disputes.
During law school Mr. Karam also clerked for Honorable Judge John Goger of the Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta, Georgia assisting the Judge with his civil and criminal docket.
Mr. Karam draws from this experience in his representation of individuals in the civil arena, and his criminal defense practice, which has grown to represent and counsel those accused at the highest felony level.
Mr. Karam has also become well versed in the nascent legal areas of smart contracts executed utilizing blockchain technology, and international and domestic state/federal cannabis law.
