Alexander Wildey Horton is an attorney with first-hand experience in how laws are made, interpreted, and enforced. He has worked in all three branches of government in Texas — the legislative, executive, and judicial.
That gives him a unique perspective on the law and how it works that is invaluable to the personal injury clients who come to The Krist Law Firm, P.C. for help obtaining compensation after serious accidents.
As a young man, Horton had an interest in government and how it functions. After earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing at Texas A&M University, he obtained a job at the Texas Legislature in Austin as a legislative aide and committee clerk. During that time, he got an up-close look at how laws are enacted at the state level.
He then worked with the Residential Construction Commission, a state agency, and gained knowledge of how laws are enforced at an administrative level. He also learned how government agencies are run — knowledge that he uses often while seeking government records and data as evidence in personal injury cases.
His experience with laws and regulations prompted Horton to enter law school at the South Texas College of Law in Houston, where he graduated summa cum laude and with numerous awards. He was a member of the South Texas Law Review, as well as the South Texas moot court program, which trained him to present arguments in court on behalf of his clients.
Upon graduating, he took a position as a briefing attorney for Justice Paul W. Green of the Supreme Court of Texas performing behind-the-scenes work on important court cases and opinions. After viewing the law from the heights of the Supreme Court of Texas, he was eager to practice at the trial level and joined the The Krist Law Firm, P.C.
At The Krist Law Firm, P.C., Horton focuses his practice on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He handles commercial trucking and cases involving car accidents in Houston, maritime accident cases, and other types of personal injury cases.
In personal injury cases, Horton relishes the chance to dig in and investigate the facts of a case, and to present strong arguments on behalf of people seriously injured in accidents to show why they deserve to be compensated — no matter the size of the case.
