Alexander Woo

Alexander Woo focuses on environmental enforcement actions, litigation and transactional matters. Alex advises a variety of industry clients, including oil and gas and pipeline companies, real estate developers, financial institutions and industry associations on the full spectrum of environmental regulatory and compliance issues.

His practice focuses on climate change policy and litigation under the Clean Air Act (CAA) and state law, as well as Clean Water Act (CWA) rulemaking actions. Alex has notable experience supporting energy industry clients in licensing processes, enforcement actions and litigation.

He regularly advises clients on litigation and policies related to climate change under state and federal law and has experience conducting environmental due diligence for renewable energy projects.

During law school, Alex was a judicial intern for the Honorable David Novak and worked as a research fellow at the Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic, assisting veterans with claims and appeals for disability benefits.

Experience:

• Represented client on the collection of major Superfund Sites in Silicon Valley in connection with implementation of the initial Record of Decision (ROD), finalization of a ROD Amendment for a change to the remedy, designation of a new Operable Unit, identification and pursuit of additional potentially responsible parties, and ongoing facilitation of a joint defense group.
• Assisted a North American leader in crude oil and natural gas transportation through the application process to obtain a license to construct an offshore deepwater port dedicated to exporting oil.
