Alexandra Hemenway

Alexandra Hemenway concentrates her practice on representing companies in employment, wage and hour and traditional labor matters. Alex focuses on helping employers prevent employee-related problems before they become lawsuits through counseling and training.

Within employment law, Alex focuses on employment discrimination and wrongful termination litigation, including sexual harassment and discrimination on the basis of race, gender, disability or age, and represents clients before various state and federal courts and administrative agencies.

In addition, Alex has defended employers in wage and hour class actions in both state and federal court, including claims involving missed meal and rest break periods and misclassification of employees.

Alex’s practice also includes representing companies in organizing campaigns and unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. She has been involved in multiple organizing campaigns, related hearings before the Board, and labor arbitration cases.

While in law school, Alex interned at a boutique law firm in Paris, France, where she counseled French and English clients regarding French employment law issues. She has had experience in corporate law, including securities regulation.

She worked as senior articles editor on the Journal of Corporation Law where she revised a number of articles for publication covering issues such as the Dodd-Frank Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
