Alexis Crawford Douglas concentrates her practice in the area of intellectual property, including a range of transactional and litigation matters related to trademarks and copyrights, along with the strategic management of intellectual property portfolios.
Ms. Douglas regularly represents clients ranging from multi-national to start-up companies in a variety of industries including consumer products, marketing and advertising, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, financial, technology, and entertainment.
Ms. Douglas regularly advises clients on global brand portfolios and filing strategies, and handles global prosecution, maintenance and protection of trademarks. She has particular experience advising on the complex intellectual property and technology issues in corporate transactions.
Ms. Douglas routinely negotiates and drafts intellectual property-related agreements, including settlement agreements, assignments, licenses, and consent agreements.
Ms. Douglas also handles litigation matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and various federal courts, as well as domain name disputes before arbitration panels. She regularly represents clients in a range of industries with the protection and enforcement of trademark, copyright and other intellectual property rights.
Ms. Douglas previously worked as an intellectual property intern for Fox Entertainment Group. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Morton Denlow of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Douglas worked at The Advanced Business Intelligence Solutions Group, where she managed a network of educational websites, and wrote and edited daily news briefs on niche industries for corporate clients.
Ms. Douglas also owned and managed her own writing, editing and consulting company before and during law school.
