Alexis Kim is an associate with Nixon Peabody’s Commercial Litigation practice group. She represents individuals and corporations in a wide variety of matters. I focus my practice on complex commercial disputes in both state and federal trial courts, bankruptcy courts and appellate courts.
I have represented financial institutions, public corporations, asset management firms, accounting firms and individuals in complex commercial disputes, regulatory enforcement proceedings, criminal investigations, internal investigations and class actions.
For example, I recently represented a client in a complex contract dispute seeking specific performance of a right of first refusal, first in state court and then in bankruptcy court, which ultimately led to a settlement agreement whereby the client obtained a portfolio of 35 hotels, among other assets.
Some of my favorite cases have been those that began as internal investigations, prompted by an inquiry from the SEC or DOJ, or by whistleblower allegations, which subsequently led to regulatory enforcement actions, followed by shareholder class actions and derivative suits.
