Alison Weintraub Berson is a member in the firm’s New York office, where she focuses her practice on Commercial Litigation. Alison has represented corporations, schools, municipalities and liability insurers in various diverse claims. She has counseled insurers in connection with the resolution of these complex claims through litigation and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
Alison has substantial litigation experience in a wide variety of claims, including premises liability, catastrophic injury, construction defect and insurance coverage claims. She has also counseled clients regarding employment discrimination, music licensing and the False Claims Act.
In addition to litigation, Alison has prepared materials and assisted in presenting for the NYSBA on the topics of premises liability, liability for sporting events, and extracontractual damages under bad faith theories in first party litigation. She has also been a featured panelist, discussing the False Claims Act for the Federal Bar Association and the American Conference Institute.
Alison earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her law degree, cum laude, from St. John’s University. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as an associate at a large international law firm. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Anne Y. Shields, United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
