Alison M. Hashmall is a counsel in the firm’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Financial Institutions and Banking Group. Ms. Hashmall’s practice focuses on the full range of regulatory and policy matters including recalibration of the post-crisis regulatory framework, the Volcker Rule, authority and control matters, total loss-absorbing capacity (TLAC) and single-point of entry resolution strategies.
She has advised financial institutions and industry organizations on a wide range of bank regulatory matters, including in connection with advocacy efforts on regulatory and legislative proposals. She also advises on capital raising activities and other transactional matters.
Ms. Hashmall clerked for the Honorable Douglas H. Ginsburg of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 2010 to 2011.
Ms. Hashmall received her J.D. magna cum laude from New York University School of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, a notes editor for the New York University Law Review, a Pomeroy Scholar and a Butler Scholar.
Ms. Hashmall also earned an M.Phil in Development Studies with Distinction from the University of Cambridge and received her A.B. cum laude from Princeton University in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, where she also received a Certificate in Finance.
