Allen Burton is a commercial litigator with a track record of success handling complex disputes.  Allen has achieved favorable results at all stages of litigation and arbitration—such as by defeating fraud and negligence claims for major financial institutions at the pleadings stage, winning an insurance-related contractual dispute as first chair trial counsel, obtaining summary judgment in favor of an airport authority in claims arising from 9/11 attacks, and resolving numerous matters favorably through complex mediation.

Allen’s diverse clients include leading companies in the financial services, insurance, aviation, healthcare, and software industries.  Allen has been recognized in Super Lawyers, as a Rising Star, New York Metro Edition.

In 2018, Allen was named a Client Service All Star by BTI Consulting Group for superior client focus based on a survey of more than 350 corporate counsel. In addition, Allen was recommended in 2018 by Legal 500 in securities litigation, product liability, and insurance.

Allen is active in firm management. He currently serves as the firm’s Hiring Partner, responsible for managing recruiting efforts across O’Melveny’s 15 offices.  Allen previously served an administrative role on the firm’s Policy Committee.

Allen regularly represents pro bono clients in education-, domestic violence-, civil rights-, and immigration-related matters.  He also serves on the Board of NYC Outward Bound, a non-profit organization focused on improving New York City public schools, and is active in his hometown community of Chatham, New Jersey.
