Allison Cohan represents clients in complex business and employment litigation matters in both state and federal courts. She frequently represents clients in litigation matters involving professional liability insurance policies, workers compensation claims, employment discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination lawsuits and the Civil Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
Allison also counsels clients in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in Virginia and North Carolina and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Allison’s practice also includes the representation of businesses, health care facilities and professionals. She has defended companies facing class action litigation in North Carolina, and she frequently appears before both state and federal judges in complex commercial litigation matters.
Allison is admitted to practice in North Carolina, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina. She is a member of the North Carolina and Wake County Bar Associations, as well as the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys.
She also serves as the Young Lawyers Division representative for the Federal Bar Association’s Eastern District of North Carolina chapter, and she is a member of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional Network. Active in the community, Allison is a board member of the United Arts Council, and she is the co-president of Business and Professional Women of the Triangle.
Allison earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Wake Forest University, where she served as senior articles editor of the Wake Forest Law Review. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and dance and movement studies from Emory University.
