Prior to joining the firm, Allison worked as an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of an east and west coast law firm where she focused her practice on patent prosecution in the areas of computer engineering and software. She also worked on intellectual property rights procurement, licensing, litigation, and post-grant proceedings.

Previously, Allison was an associate at a mid-sized intellectual property boutique law firm in Reston, Virginia where she focused on intellectual property strategy and procurement and post-grant proceedings. Before that, Allison was a patent attorney and patent agent at a New Jersey intellectual property law firm. Allison was a Senior Law Clerk for the Division of Economic and Cybercrime in the Philadelphia Office of the District Attorney where she performed computer and accounting forensics in addition to her regular law clerk duties.

Additionally, Allison worked as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia where she examined patent applications directed towards Business Methods involving cryptocurrency, network and information security, and financial transactions.

Prior to launching her legal career, Allison worked as a Network Administrator for seven years and was a Guest Researcher in the Advanced Networking Technologies Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland where she worked on a project involving bandwidth allocation in multi-protocol wireless networks.

Allison is Founder and President of STEM America, LLC in Arlington, Virginia. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) America, LLC is a not for profit organization dedicated to providing Americans of all ages, genders, and backgrounds with exposure to STEM careers through programs that inform those, who have suffered job displacement resulting from technological advancements, about educational and job retraining opportunities. STEM America, LLC also provides entrepreneur workshops to encourage and enable people from marginalized backgrounds to start businesses in STEM fields.

As the reigning Ms. Woman Georgia United States, Allison is the world’s first patent attorney to win a pageant title. She was selected to represent the state of Georgia as a brand ambassador for civic responsibility and philanthropy.

Allison’s duties include public speaking, hosting and attending charitable fundraising events, public relations, and encouraging Americans to engage in innovation and entrepreneurship. Her role also provides Allison an opportunity to promote and fundraise for her non-profit, STEM America, LLC.

As well as being deeply committed to supporting business entrepreneurship by people from marginalized backgrounds, Allison is committed to social entrepreneurship. She has contributed significant pro bono work including assistance with business formation, intellectual property acquisition, and contractual agreements.

Allison has been recognized by both Temple University Beasley School of Law and the New York State Bar Association for her pro bono contributions.

During 2016 and 2017, Allison spoke on “Building a Successful Startup” at several hack-a-thons, universities, and incubators throughout the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. areas. Her presentations were directed to educating college and master’s degree students about legal pitfalls of startup ventures.
