Allison B. Tanton focuses her practice on a broad range of trust and estate matters. She has experience with wealth transfer planning strategies for high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, including the preparation of documents such as wills, revocable trusts (including marital, residuary and discretionary trusts), powers of attorney and living wills.
She has assisted clients with all facets of the estate administration process, in addition to the preparation of insurance trusts (ILITs) and grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs); transfer and allocation agreements and accompanying promissory notes and pledge agreements; LLC operating agreements, assignments and amendments; resignation and appointment of fiduciaries; release of grantor trust powers; distribution and termination of trusts; exercises of powers of appointment; and transfers to other trusts.
While attending law school, Allison served as a judicial extern in the Probate Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. She also served as a Public Interest Law Initiative Fellow in the Special Education Clinic at Equip for Equality in Chicago.
