Amber Sheppard is a life-long Northshore native who spends her time working tirelessly for her clients in the courtroom and on the platform. She knew she wanted to be a lawyer from a young age, but the world figured it out when she did a book report on John Grisham in 4th grade. Isn’t it every nine year old’s dream to read court room dramas and fight for the underdog?
Amber continued her nerdy inclinations at Lake Castle Private School and Pope John Paul II Catholic High School right here in Slidell. When she wasn’t studying to maintain her nerd status and 4.3 GPA, she found time to branch out into athletics which became her passion. While at Pope John Paul, she was a member of the three-time state championship powerlifting team, a track & field athlete (shot put), and cheerleader.
After high school, Amber attended college at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. It was there she received her degree in Political Science, graduated summa cum laude, and started her career in both the legal field and the fitness industry. She was the youngest officer manager and law clerk for Traumatic Brain Injury Specialists, Anderson & Boutwell.
In an effort to fulfill her life-long dream, Amber attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. She chose MC Law because it offered both civil law and common law. Always a forward thinker, Amber did that in order to be prepared to practice in both Louisiana and Mississippi.
She excelled in the class room, clerked for criminal defense and personal injury attorney Coxwell & Associates, and found time to be named Mississippi Athlete Of The Year for powerlifting during this time period. Upon graduation Amber founded the first USA Weightlifting club in Mississippi (Mississippi Barbell) and grew olympic weightlifting in the region.
She meet directed the first weightlifting meets in Mississippi history, coached the first Mississippi athletes to National weightlifting events, and became the highest ranked weightlifting coach in the state. In the last five years she converted the program into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, spearheaded fundraising campaigns, and has coached World Champions and record holders.
Amber combined her love for fitness and the law and became the Director Of Operations for a national gym management company. She implemented a continuing education curriculum and system for personal trainers and handled the day to day operations on a national scale. Under her supervision, the organization doubled their profits and her closing rate was 87%. During this time period, Amber garnered nine state records in her own right as a national level powerlifter.
Amber is a dynamic and highly skilled researcher, author, and advocate. Her experiences as a business owner, freelance writer, coach and attorney molded her into a strong and confident leader with unparalleled communication skills. She uses her innumerable skills to serve her clients and the community efficiently and effectively.
