Amee James Lunn is a first-generation American who is fluent in Gujarati (an Indian dialect) and born to parents who immigrated to America from India in the late sixties.
I was raised in the State of New York and graduated from Alfred University (located in upstate New York) in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
After making the decision to go to law school, I pursued my legal studies at Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut and graduated with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 1998. I was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in November of 1998 and was later admitted to the federal practice of law in the United States District Court of Connecticut.
Practicing law for over 20 years has given me a tremendous amount of experience in dealing with personal injury and probate matters.
I have worked in offices representing plaintiffs (the person who files a lawsuit) and have also worked as in-house counsel for the Allstate and Encompass Insurance companies, where I represented defendants (the person who is sued) in civil litigation. I have successfully tried several cases in front of juries in the Bridgeport, New Haven, Waterbury and Stamford Superior Courts.
This experience has given me a valuable advantage in advocating for my clients in personal injury cases and other civil matters. I am able to see the strengths and weaknesses of each case from both perspectives and this enables me to succeed in settling or litigating personal injury claims for fair and reasonable values.
I have also had the opportunity to represent clients in the State of Connecticut Probate Courts for many years. I work as private counsel as well as probate court-appointed counsel on several cases. I am able to provide representation in any of the state’s probate courts. I most commonly have worked in the East Haven-North Haven, Wallingford, Hamden-Bethany, New Haven, Cheshire and Shelton Probate Courts.
My probate includes estate administrations, conservatorships, guardianships and some unique probate litigation matters. I have served as Attorney, Conservator, Guardian and Guardian Ad Litem. Through my work in the probate courts, I also discovered a love for working in the areas of estate planning, Medicaid planning and assisting clients through the Medicaid application process.
I am currently a member of the New Haven County Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, Connecticut Pro Bono Network. I also sit on the Commission on Aging for the Town of North Haven.
