
Andrea M. Kanski’s estate planning background includes analysis and development of overall tax and estate planning strategies consistent with the objectives of the individual and his/her family. Her analysis includes estate tax, gift tax, income tax and generation-skipping transfer tax aspects and the preparation of documents, including wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney and designation of patient advocate forms.
Andea regularly counsels families regarding long term care issues, disability planning and similar Elder Law issues. She is involved in the settlement of estates and trusts, including resolution of matters involving assets such as closely held businesses which may involve valuation issues.
Andrea has extensive probate experience with both supervised and informal proceedings involving deceased estates, guardianships and conservatorships and in all aspects of post-mortem administration of estates and trusts, including preparation of federal and state estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and fiduciary and individual income tax returns.
Andrea’s practice also involves counseling owners of closely held, family-owned businesses concerning corporate, tax and estate planning issues, including the transfer of control and ownership to the next generation through the use of devices such as family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, buy/sell agreements and insurance arrangements.
