Mr. Andrew R. Cockroft is an associate in the Labor & Employment Practice Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He focuses on defending employers in a variety of matters from class and collective actions, wage and hour litigation, ERISA litigation, single-plaintiff discrimination claims, and labor relations matters including unfair labor practices charges and grievance arbitration.
Aside from his labor and employment practice, Mr. Cockroft has also worked on pro bono matters, including advocating for the Constitutional rights of prisoners within the State of Illinois. While attending the University of Texas, Mr. Cockroft coached speech and debate for several high schools across the state of Texas.
In 2012, one of Mr. Cockroft’s students won the Texas Forensic Association’s State Championship. Mr. Cockroft also participated in the creation of the Texas Debate Collective, a non-profit, whose mission is to ensure low-income students experience the transformative opportunities of high school debate.
