Drew has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout Alabama for over 25 years. He is committed to understanding from the outset his client’s goal and objectives for the prosecution or defense of the litigation and achieving those goals. Drew is frequently involved in ADR, particularly arbitration and mediation. Drew has extensive experience defending product liability claims involving a wide range of products from heavy equipment to construction products, commercial and consumer products, as well as chemicals. He is dedicated to recognizing and developing opportunities to effect desirable business resolutions of claims at all phases, pre-suit through trial.
Jefferson County Presiding Judge J. Scott Vowell asked Drew to serve on the committee that created Alabama’s first court to handle complex commercial litigation. The other members of the committee were retired Supreme Court Justice Ralph Cook, Alabama Gas Company President Dudley Reynolds and Circuit Court Judge Robert S. Vance, who will be the primary judge handling cases on the Commercial Litigation Docket (“CLD”). The CLD has a specific jurisdiction set forth in the applicable rules. Drew can help you determine whether your matter is suitable for assignment or transfer to the CLD.
