
Ann C. Matthews focuses her practice in estate planning and trust and estate administration. She advises individuals and families on all aspects of their estate planning, including gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer tax matters and preparation of gift and estate tax returns.
Ann assists clients in establishing irrevocable and revocable trusts and advises them on administering those trusts. She handles probate matters and court proceedings involving trusts, estates and guardianships. Her practice includes advising clients on charitable giving as well as the creation, tax reporting and management of charitable trusts and private foundations.
Prior to joining the firm, Ann was a partner at Botto Law Group as well as Special Counsel at Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP (formerly Pillsbury Madison & Sutro LLP). Ann has concentrated her practice in the estate planning and administration field since 1990. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and California.
Ann graduated from Brigham Young University Law School in 1988, magna cum laude, where she served as the Managing Editor of the Law Review. Following law school she served a judicial clerkship to the Honorable James Duke Cameron of the Arizona Supreme Court.
Ann is a member of the Order of the Coif, DuPage County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and is a trustee of the Naperville Education Foundation. She is a former member of the Naper Settlement Museum Board.
