
Anna C. Covert represents clients in complex commercial and construction matters in state and federal court. She specifically handles legal issues related to industrial and commercial development, including construction defects and delay, mechanic’s liens, fraud, breach of contract, breach of warranty, differing site conditions, public-private partnerships, and surety and insurance issues. Anna also advises clients regarding contract drafting on construction and real estate projects.
Before joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Anna was an associate at Smithamundsen, where she represented clients in commercial and construction disputes, acted as trial counsel, drafted and argued a variety of dispositive motions, and conducted and defended depositions in state and federal courts. Anna has also represented clients at bench trials.
She is an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she coaches the civil law mock trial team. During law school, Anna gained additional litigation experience while externing for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office where she drafted dispositive motions and assisted counsel in preparing for trial.
