
Anthony J. Berlenbach’s practice involves all aspects of patent law, including patent litigation, patent prosecution, and intellectual property licensing. He has experience working with various technologies, including mechanical and electrical systems, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and gaming.
While in law school, Anthony worked as a summer associate and law clerk at Finnegan, assisting in litigation and prosecution matters. His litigation experience encompasses multiple stages of the litigation process, including developing infringement contentions, conducting discovery, and drafting motions.
He assisted in prosecuting utility applications before the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He also presented on patent exhaustion and post-sale rights. Anthony also participated in the school’s Intellectual Property Law Clinic, conducting inventor interviews, counseling entrepreneurs on patent and trademark matters, and drafting patent applications for clients.
As an undergraduate student, Anthony worked for the university’s technology transfer office, managing a portfolio of technologies in various fields, including mechanical and electrical arts, consumer goods, materials, nanotechnology, medical and veterinary devices, clean and renewable energy, and software. Anthony routinely worked with inventors to develop and license technologies.
He conducted patentability evaluations, prepared provisional patent applications, and reviewed license agreements and term sheets. Anthony has a technical background in mechanical engineering and received an undergraduate minor in biomedical engineering, focusing his studies on extracorporeal liver perfusion systems.
