
Aruna Ghatak-Roy’s practice focuses on assisting individual inventors, startups, and entities secure their IP rights. Her electrical engineering background in conjunction with her law degree helps Aruna position her practice in the unique area where business, engineering, and law intersect.
Aruna’s position to help her clients is further strengthened given the strong multi-dimensional team she is part of at Dickinson Wright. Out of the Austin office, she has access to a solid team including IP, technology transfer and licensing, litigation, and corporate practices.
Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, Aruna’s legal experience includes gaining patent prosecution experience at mid-sized and boutique patent law firms in Austin before she branched out on her own.
In her solo practice, she provided her expertise to individual inventors and startups, and she filed patents related to blockchain technology, biotech, and computer memory. Aruna’s engineering experience includes over two years on the sort floor at Intel’s Ronler Acres campus in Hillsboro, OR and time at UT Austin’s J.J. Pickle Research facilities where she focused on semiconductor device physics and fabrication techniques.
