Ashley Bruce Trehan handles complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters with a concentration on class action defense, managed care litigation, and multi-district litigation (MDL). Her practice also focuses on federal and state administrative law proceedings involving securities and health care regulations.
Ashley practices in federal courts at a nationwide level and in Florida courts statewide. Ashley has handled commercial cases involving all types of contract and tort claims, including fraud, breach of contract, health care, professional negligence, unfair and deceptive trade practices, securities, real estate and products liability.
In the managed care context, Ashley has represented providers and health insurance companies in high-stakes, complex commercial arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) ADR Service. Ashley also partners with out-of-state counsel as local counsel in a variety of cases pending in Florida federal and state courts.
An active member of the ABA’s Class Action and Derivative Suits Committee, Ashley has authored numerous articles regarding hot topics and trends in class action litigation, federal court practice, and eDiscovery issues.
In addition to her commercial litigation and class action experience, Ashley is a passionate pro bono advocate. She represents the disabled through her pro bono involvement with the MacDonald Training Center, a local organization providing services to those with developmental disabilities, and she volunteers with the Florida Department of Health’s Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Advisory Counsel. She also advocates for animal welfare through her involvement with the Animal Legal Defense Fund and the Humane Society.
Ashley received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship, was a member of the University of Miami Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She completed her undergraduate education at Emory University with a B.A. in psychology and music. As part of her music studies at Emory, Ashley focused on music theory and classical piano performance.
