Experience:
Successfully handled insurance claim for an individual whose Tibetan coin dies and gold bullion coins were stolen. We revealed that the law in Washington, D.C. (i) recognizes insurance company mistake as a ground for recognizing coverage, and (ii) frowns upon insurance company reliance upon exclusions that are not revealed until after an event underlying coverage has taken place. Nonetheless, the insurance company continued to insist upon a denial of coverage for the stolen coins and a court date was set. After pre-court hearing negotiations the insurance company agreed to pay our client the total of what he sought.
