Ms. Ashley S. Jenkins is counsel practicing in Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the firm’s ADA Title III Specialty Practice Team. Ms. Jenkins represents clients in single plaintiff and class actions arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and all manner of state and local laws relating to civil rights. Ms. Jenkins also represents clients in government compliance investigations that may result in actions brought in federal court.
Ms. Jenkins’ practice primarily focuses on disability law and its impact on public accommodations and employers. As a member of Seyfarth Shaw’s ADA Title III Specialty Team, she represents public accommodations nationally in matters involving architectural barriers, effective communication, service animals and most recently, digital accessibility issues.
Ms. Jenkins has successfully represented various hotels, retailers and health care providers in ADA Title III litigation. Ms. Jenkins also advises clients regarding compliance with the ADA, creating compliance programs, and training curricula to enable those clients to avoid or respond to federal litigation.
Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw, Ms. Jenkins worked in the Disability Rights Section of the Department of Justice where she investigated public accommodations as well as state and local governments for violations of the ADA and the Rehabilitation Act. In addition, Ms. Jenkins also assisted in the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation while working in the Civil Division of the Department of Justice.
