
Aubry D. Smith is a partner in Mayer Brown’s New York office and a member of the Corporate & Securities practice. Aubry represents both sponsors and investors in all aspects of the establishment and operation of private investment funds, fund of funds and managed accounts (closed-ended, open-ended and hybrid).
He also advises on investment transactions such as co-investments, joint ventures, seed capital arrangements and secondary market sales of fund interests, as well as the establishment and acquisition of investment advisory businesses and the lift-out of management teams.
Aubry has particular experience in the formation of credit funds. His previous representations in secured lending and other credit-related deal work add depth to his experience in this area. Aubry has been recognized as a leading investment fund formation lawyer in Who’s Who Legal: Private Funds 2019.
