Audrey Moorehead, a candidate for Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court #3, serves on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas as Section Representative, is Of Counsel for the prestigious Kastl Law, P.C. and practices in the areas of Criminal Defense, Domestic Relations, Wills, Trusts and Probate. She has a Masters of Business Administration and is a graduate of Texas A&M School of Law, f/k/a Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
Audrey began her professional career in executive management with the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas in Long Term Care. She was a Summer Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Judge Jay Patterson, 101stDistrict Court and Summer Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Sam A. Lindsay, Northern District.
Ms. Moorehead is the former Secretary/Treasurer for the Dallas Bar Association Board of Directors and Chairman of the Dallas Bar Association Mentoring Committee. Ms. Moorehead is the former Regional Director of National Bar Association and is the former Chairman of the African American Lawyer’s Section for the State Bar of Texas.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association and one of four Course Directors for the 30th Annual Rusty Duncan Advanced Criminal Law Seminar.
Ms. Moorehead is a former Chair and Co-Chair of the Council of Chairs for the State Bar of Texas and is, also, a current Presidential Appointee to the State Bar of Texas Legal Services to the Poor in Criminal Matters Committee and 2017 State Bar Annual Meeting Committee. She is a faculty member and frequent presenter for the Texas Center for Legal Ethics – James A. Baker Legal Ethics Series.
She is a Dallas County Commissioner’s Court appointee to the Dallas County Child Welfare Board and also serves on the CASA Advisory Board. Ms. Moorehead is the Vice President of the Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association.
Audrey is a member of the 2017 class of Leadership Texas. Ms. Moorehead was named the Best Criminal Defense Attorney in Dallas County for Juveniles as voted on by her peers in the Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association for 2015 and 2016.
