W. Austin Jowers specializes in bankruptcy matters, with a focus on representing lenders and agents in connection with commercial workouts and restructurings. A partner in our Financial Restructuring practice, Austin also regularly represents buyers and sellers in connection with distressed merger and acquisition transactions.
Austin’s restructuring experience includes multi-jurisdictional and cross-border matters and spans a number of industries, including retail, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, consumer lending, and energy. Transaction teams co-lead by Austin have twice won the Turnaround Management Association’s Large Transaction of the Year Award: Cagle’s Inc. in 2013 and Cooper-Booth Wholesale, L.P. in 2015.
Austin is actively involved in the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute, and currently serves as co-chair of the advisory board for the ABI’s Annual Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop, one of the leading bankruptcy conferences in the Southeast.
