Barbara Edwards is a partner in the Corporate Finance and Lending team. Her practice focuses on working with clients on all aspects of complex finance transactions in the U.S. and international markets, including emerging markets.
Practicing as an attorney for over two decades with a business savvy approach, Barbara has represented privately held and publicly listed corporations, including, among others, Fortune 500 companies, private equity sponsors, hedge funds and development finance institutions in their financing activities. She is well versed in all aspects of financing transactions, whether the financing is secured or unsecured, syndicated or bilateral, cash flow or asset-based or a project financing.
Barbara has expertise in investment grade financings and maintains a particular focus on public company financings and power projects financings. She also has extensive experience in structuring and optimizing treasury and cash management operations utilizing intercompany loans and investment arrangements.
Barbara represents clients in a wide array of industries including the automotive, coal, gaming, healthcare and life sciences, industrials, infrastructure, natural and renewable resources, media, power and energy, retail and telecommunications sectors.
Her representation of major investment and commercial banks, note issuers and holders, fund of funds, development finance institutions, multilateral banks and export credit agencies in first and second lien financings, term loan B financings, mezzanine financings, subscription line financings, private placements, dividend recapitalizations and debt restructurings gives her a unique perspective in structuring financing arrangements for clients.
