Beau Goodrick focuses his practice primarily on patent litigation, where he has experience with various technologies relating to drones, automotive technologies, and telecommunications.
Beau has previous experience in the Offices of Technology Transfer at both Emory University and the United States Department of Energy, and has performed research related to the patenting of incremental innovations in the renewable energy sector.
Beau has additionally assisted in the drafting of an amicus curiae brief to the Supreme Court for its decision in Commil USA, LLC v. Cisco Systems, Inc.
Beau places great emphasis on pro bono and community endeavors. Before beginning his legal career he was a member of Engineers Without Borders, and helped plan and implement the first running water system in La Estanzuela, Honduras.
Since joining Steptoe, Beau has assisted in the drafting of a petition for habeas corpus on behalf of a death row inmate in Texas and an appeal to the Ninth Circuit on behalf of a pretrial detainee attempting to recover for her unconstitutional treatment in the Los Angeles County Jail System.
