Benjamin Calkins is the Founder of Calkins Law Firm. Prior to founding Calkins Law Firm, Ben Calkins practiced for several decades with some of the largest old style law firms in the World.
It was while practicing with these large old style law firms that Ben Calkins learned firsthand about what business clients rightfully expect from their law firm and attorneys as well as what business clients most resent about old style law firms.
Ben Calkins is an honors graduate of Harvard College and the University of Michigan Law School. Ben Calkins was an Editor of the Michigan Law Review, was admitted to the Order of the Coif, was a legal instructor at Michigan Law School and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
After graduating from law school, Ben Calkins served as law clerk to United States District Court Judge Julian Abele Cook, Jr. Ben Calkins has over three decades of experience representing businesses in all manner of legal matters, particularly business transactions and business disputes.
Ben Calkins is active in his community. Ben Calkins is the former President of the Harvard Club of Northeast Ohio and the Ohio Venture Association. Ben Calkins is a founder of the North Coast Angel Fund. Ben Calkins is also active with his church, as a 4-H leader and in numerous other ways throughout the community.
Ben Calkins is a frequent public speaker, and has addressed such topics as business law, business formation and growth, economic development, youth development and leadership and sustainable agriculture.
