Blake D. Gunn chose to pursue a career in law as he believed it presented him with an opportunity to be challenged, and that was of great appeal. It was also a natural family progression to follow in his father’s footsteps as his father had also practiced law.
Mr. Gunn possesses three degrees having acquired a BS in Economics from Brigham Young University in 1994; and M.B.A. from Arizona State University in 1996 and a J.D. from Arizona State University on 1998.
Since Mr. Gunn selected his focus to be within three key areas since entering the world of law, concentrating on bankruptcy, real estate and business representation.
He has been fortunate to gain this work experience with a number of law offices that specialize in those areas to allow him to expand his now extensive expertise and skills.
From 1998 – June 2003, Mr. Gunn held a position with the boutique law firm of Warnicke & Littler in Phoenix Arizona, concentrating on complex litigation and bankruptcy.
Founded in 1989, Warnicke & Littler holds the prestigious and highest AV rating from the firm of Martindale Hubble in their international directory of lawyers for their exceptional litigation skills.
In June 0f 2004, Mr. Gunn spent a year with Hymson & Goldstein, again honing his skills in the areas of real estate transactions; bankruptcy and asset purchases and sales. Subsequently Mr. Gunn progressed to the largest law firm in Mesa Arizona, Davis Miles where he led a team facilitating bankruptcy proceedings.
During this tenure Mr. Gunn was involved in numerous business re-organizations involving such varied companies as real estate developers; a regional restaurant chain; a theme park and even an olive oil company.
During his term with Davis Miles Mr. Gunn represented creditors in various bankruptcy situations including WorldCom, Herbal Life and US Truck Lines; spent time structuring and arranging financing for both residential and commercial real estate projects as well as asset purchases for his clientele.
He additionally focused on business representation with the structuring of corporations, limited liability parties and general partnerships.
In 2006 Mr. Gunn was approached by Stephen Allgood, President of AB Hospitality to establish his interest in becoming their in house General Council, a position that Mr. Gunn accepted and is now embroiled in the many current and future projects and developments that AB Hospitality is privileged to have as part of its portfolio.
