Brandon grew up in Clarksville, Arkansas, where he learned the most important parts about lawyering: How to work hard, how to to work smart, and how to work out problems with other people. The rest he picked up in law school and his first few years of practice, but he firmly believes that most of what makes him a good advocate is what he learned growing up.
Before law school, he attended Arkansas Technical College and earned a bachelor’s degree in business. This is where he learned about business, which guides his approach to lawyering—He likes to emphasize efficiency, customer service, and communication. The law is not merely a business, but it definitely is at least a business. Brandon serves his clients best when this firm is running like a machine.
Brandon did well in law school and earned the distinction of “Honors” upon graduation and also got his M.B.A., which has been helpful starting a law firm. But grades are only so important. He also built an excellent reputation with members of the legal community when he clerked for the Arkansas Attorney General, Federal Public Defender, and various firms in Little Rock. He has built a practice around these relationships and the reputation he has for honesty, candor, and care.
He handles estate planning and probate, along with any litigation issues that accompany those fields. He also handles criminal defense and bankruptcy. He feels a little unique in my ability to wear both of those hats. Most lawyers want to either draft the trust or fight about the trust. Brandon can do both.
Brandon co-founded the firm Wilson and Haubert, PLLC, three days after he received his results from the Bar exam. If he could go back and do this over, he suspects he would do many things differently but has never regretted the decision to start something new. It has not been easy, but it was the right decision.
He is excited about the future of law and the future of Wilson and Haubert. As the firm continues to adopt better technology, expand into new geographical areas, and hire excellent staff, the hope to be able to serve more people better.
