Brenda Treml obtained her B.A. from St. Benedict and St. John’s University. She proceeded to DePaul University College of Law where she obtained her JD. She was a member of the Law Review and was the recipient of American Jurisprudence Award in Comparative Law. Brenda established Pathway Immigration Law in 2014 with focus on immigration matters.
In 2002, Brenda started her career in immigration law as an asylum officer in Chicago Asylum Office. She adjudicated cases ranging from Form 1-589 under the Nicaraguan and Central America Relief Act, during her 5 years tenure.
Brenda was elevated to Senior Adjudication Officer with USCIS Chicago in 2007. She handled difficult matters such as National security, waivers and writ of mandamus working in all the office branches. Brenda adjudicated on matters from Form 1-693 while developing materials on adjudication protocols and legal writing.
At the citizenship branch she was instrumental in ensuring several wrongfully denied visa application decision were overturned. In her duties she adjudicated Form N-400, Form N-648, and Form N-336. She was also successful at the customer service branch, being the only officer adjudicating Form I-751 abusive waivers.
Brenda handled several immigration compliance issues which earned her commendation from many immigration attorneys and organizations. She conducted training programs for immigration service officers in different area of the adjudication process
