Bret R. Klemetson’s law practice focuses on business transactions for closely-held businesses, such as buying and selling businesses and joint ventures, as well as common transactional matter such as entity formation and structuring, succession planning, and reorganizations.
Mr. Klemetson also negotiates, drafts, and reviews business agreements, including employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, manufacturing contracts, equipment leases, phantom stock plans, stock appreciation rights, and rabbi trusts.
In his mergers and acquisitions practice, Bret counsels clients from start to finish, beginning with appropriate transaction structure for busing and selling the businesses, and then negotiating and drafting the letter of intent, performing due diligence, and negotiating and drafting typical transaction documents such as the purchase agreements, transition services agreements, employment agreements, and consulting agreements.
Bret is also a CPA with a public accounting background which enables him to advise on federal and state tax planning and compliance matters. Bret joined Momkus LLC in 2016. Prior to joining Momkus LLC, Bret practiced at a large U.S.-based international law firm and a large suburban Chicago law firm.
