Brett Schlender is a member of the firm’s General Litigation Practice Group where he practices litigation, family law, and real estate. He has extensive experience in insurance litigation as well as divorce, child custody and support, civil disputes, and business transactions. He has settled marital estates in excess of $1 million, prevailed in complex asset valuation disputes, and helped many individuals tailor divorce settlements to meet their foreseeable needs.
Real estate and estate planning are also among Brett’s core competencies. He advises many area brokers and real estate professionals on licensure issues and transactional matters. He has served as legal counsel on key area real estate developments. Brett enjoys helping his clients devise a plan for wealth administration and succession as part of his estate planning practice.
He is a licensed attorney in both Michigan and Indiana. Brett’s background not only provides him the skills to manage a transaction with efficiency, but also the experience to advise on risk management and litigation avoidance strategies.
Brett lives in Holland with his wife and daughter. They are members at Calvary Christian Reformed Church. In his spare time, Brett enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and playing golf. He is an avid sports fan with a particular passion for baseball and the Chicago Cubs.
