Bria Davis

Shook Hardy & Bacon LLP

Bria L. Davis’s experience in an array of practice areas provides her with a unique lens through which she is able to see the complexities and nuances that any given issue may present. Often, the issues clients face involve more than one substantive area of law. Bria’s varied skillsets enable her to solve problems and address client needs in a comprehensive manner.

Bria handles primarily tort-based claims involving overlapping legal issues and often arising in context of product manufacturing, design and development. She recently assisted a team of Shook attorneys who represented a major vehicle manufacturer as they prepared for trial by drafting various discovery and other pretrial motions.

She currently collaborates with a small cohort of associates that is conducting a nationwide analysis of the legislative and regulatory schemes in place governing electric bicycles and scooters, in order to conduct litigation risk assessments for current and prospective clients and to generate published and oral discourse on the subject.

While attending the University of Iowa College of Law, Bria engaged in extensive research on transnational mass tort litigation, published an article in the Journal of Corporation Law, and participated in several oral advocacy competitions.

During law school, she completed internships where she earned experience in a wide range of litigation and corporate matters, involving sports and entertainment law, the Fair Labor Standards Act, litigation finance, estate administration and private wealth management, and the Department of Homeland Security’s Safety Act, as well as mass tort and multidistrict litigation.

Bria has worked in the private law sector and the corporate legal department for a multinational conglomerate that specializes in the worker safety, health care, and consumer goods industry assisting with regulatory compliance, as well as for the Minnesota Vikings, where she focused primarily on drafting exclusivity and sponsorship agreements.

She also participated in a summer practicum with the Chicago Blackhawks. She also was a research assistant for faculty projects involving transnational litigation finance, international arbitration and curriculum design.

Bria has volunteered for the Midwest Innocence Project in its wrongful conviction division and is active in Shook’s pro bono efforts, where she recently helped secure a verdict for a federal inmate seeking relief under the Federal Tort Claims Act.
