Brian W. Looby is partner for McGuireWoods LLP and is senior vice president for McGuireWoods Consulting’s Georgia State Government Relations group. He primarily assists clients with healthcare-related matters before the Georgia General Assembly and regulatory bodies.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Brian served as vice president and senior corporate counsel for a medical professional liability insurance company where he was responsible for advising the general counsel and executive management on complex corporate, healthcare, transactional, regulatory and litigation matters.
Brian was also the chief of the Division of Healthcare Facility Regulation for the Georgia Department of Community Health from 2011 through 2013. He was responsible for all program functions within the division which included the licensing, inspection and certification of a variety of health care facilities, services and professionals for compliance with the Department’s rules and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Conditions of Participation.
