Brittan Buchanan is a trial attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of business disputes, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, and products liability. Prior to joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, Britt was the managing partner of Buchanan Grabouski, an Austin firm that focused its practice on insurance coverage counseling and litigation, as well as commercial and tort litigation. He is a partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Austin office.
Britt earned his juris doctorate with distinction from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1989. While attending law school, he was the associate editor for St. Mary’s Law Journal. He received his bachelor’s degree from Brown University and the University of Texas at Austin in 1986.
Besides his professional work, Britt has been active with several organizations. He is a former board member with the Austin Chapter of Entrepreneur’s Organization, a former board member with St. Mary’s University School of Law Alumni Association and a Past President of the Federal Bar Association’s Austin Chapter.
He has presented numerous times on federal court practice at seminars by the Federal Bar Association and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association, and he has presented on insurance coverage matters including Stowers claims, indemnity and additional insured issues, as well as recurring issues regarding business auto policies.
He received the President’s Award from the State Bar of Texas and the Edmund Muskie Award from the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association in 1998.
Britt is licensed to practice in Texas and Oklahoma, all U.S. District Courts in Texas, the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Oklahoma, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Tenth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
