Brittany Knutson focuses her practice on all areas of intellectual property litigation, including cases involving trademarks, unfair competition, and false advertising. She represents clients in a variety of industries, including franchising, food and restaurant, social media, and hospitality.
Ms. Knutson has experience representing clients in federal district courts, before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She has successfully recovered infringing domain names for her clients through UDRP proceedings. Ms. Knutson’s has also developed and implemented multiple enforcement programs to combat trademark infringement in search engine sponsored and keyword advertising.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Knutson handled TTAB and federal district court litigation, and also worked on trademark prosecution, enforcement and counseling matters at a boutique intellectual property law firm in Washington, D.C.
While attending law school, Ms. Knutson served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, served as a DC Law Students in Court student attorney representing clients before the District of Columbia’s Landlord-Tenant court, worked as a legal intern in the Alexandria Public Defender Office in Alexandria, Virginia, and gained Intellectual Property experience through internships with boutique D.C.-based firms. Ms. Knutson also earned the highest grade in several courses and was a Senior Editor of the Journal of Gender, Social Policy & the Law.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Knutson built a successful career in higher education and was the Director of Admissions at Globe University in Madison, Wisconsin.
