Bruce E. Fader, the former chair of the Litigation Department and a former member of the firm’s seven-person Executive Committee, maintains an active trial and litigation practice. He has tried major commercial cases in Alabama, California, Delaware, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, and before the ICC in Paris.
Representing corporate plaintiffs, Bruce has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars, mostly after trial, in matters covering a broad range of substantive areas and industries, including banking, securities, insurance coverage, pharmaceutical, biotech, mechanical engineering, and complex commercial contracts of various types.
Representing defendants, Bruce has litigated extensively in the following substantive areas and industries, among others:
Patents – Represented both plaintiffs and defendants in patent litigations for more than 20 years
Antitrust – Defended foreign and domestic clients in various federal courts and before the FTC
International Arbitration – Handled various types of international arbitrations, principally for French, Japanese and Chinese clients.
Bruce has been involved in numerous matters in the entertainment industry, including a number of highly publicized cases in New York and Los Angeles.
Bruce served as part of an American Judicature Society team that produced an extensive report that led to major changes in the jurisdiction of the New York Court of Appeals.
