Bryan Meyer

Bryan E. Meyer represents large, medium, and small clients across the United States, as well as several internationally-based companies.  His practice focuses on acquiring, protecting, managing and enforcing patent and trademark rights domestically and internationally.

He helps clients develop comprehensive trademark registration programs, which often includes advising on appropriate trademark selection, clearance searching, advising on appropriate territories for registration, registering trademarks, counseling on proper use of trademarks, policing third-party use of trademarks, and establishing ongoing enforcement programs.

Bryan also has substantial experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the mechanical, electrical, and software arts.  His practice also includes analysis of patentability, patent infringement, and patent validity.  He also evaluates licensing and acquisition opportunities.

Before joining Shook, Bryan established a boutique intellectual property law firm where he counseled clients in all aspects of intellectual property law.

He acquired significant experience preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications; litigating patent, trademark and copyright matters; conducting validity and infringement studies; and drafting licensing agreements.

Bryan has also served as corporate and securities counsel at a publicly-traded company.  In this role he gained valuable experience developing working relationships between in-house and outside counsel.

Before law school, Bryan worked in the engineering department of a large water utility company. He provided technical expertise and project management for a variety of water treatment and water distribution projects.

He managed construction contractors, wrote and reviewed technical literature, performed engineering studies and inspected hydro-mechanical facilities.
