C. Hunter Hayes is a litigator in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson who focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and business dispute resolution. Mr. Hayes has experience drafting and arguing motions, presenting witnesses at trial, preparing fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial testimony, and marshalling all aspects of discovery.

- Jacobs Facilities, Inc. in obtaining a favorable trial verdict against the Judicial Council of California, Administrative Office of the Courts, for non-payment of $23 million in repair and maintenance services to maintain courthouses in California.

- A national manufacturing company in successfully defeating class certification in a multi-million dollar wage and hour action.
- A family of four fleeing gang violence in Central America in simultaneous proceedings before the Asylum Office and the Immigration Court.
Mr. Hayes maintains a robust pro bono practice where he focuses on international human rights and access to education. He also serves as the co-chair of the firm’s LGBT Initiative.
Before joining Munger Tolles, Mr. Hayes clerked for Judge John Owens of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge Michael Fitzgerald of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He graduated first in his class from UCLA School of Law, where he served as chief managing editor of the UCLA Law Review and an editor for the Dukeminier Awards Journal of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law.
